COURSE, GROUNDSPEED, AND WIND CORRECTION ANGLE
According to the FAA, course is the intended direction of flight in the horizontal plane measured in degrees from north. Groundspeed is the speed over the ground, either closing speed to the station or waypoint, or speed over the ground in whatever direction the aircraft is going at the moment, depending upon the navigation system used. Wind correction angle (WCA) is the angle between the desired track and the heading of the aircraft necessary to keep the aircraft tracking over the desired track.
